It would be nice if I could configure an automatic periodic cooldown pause for SD cards/SSD's to prevent overheating.
Today we use less hard drives and more flash drives.
Flash drives can become very hot when constantly written to, and eventually get destroyed.
Using TC, I already have destroyed a 256GB SD card (Samsung) and a 4TB SSD (Samsung 990Pro). When they stopped working, they were very hot.
If I could configure 3 minute breaks in every 10 minutes of copying, I would not have to take care of pauses myself.
Are other users recognizing this problem and looking for this too?

For the SSD, you really need a heatsink, and probably also a cooler fan.
For the SD card, it would be difficult because you can't read the temperature. Maybe use the pause function manually?

If you destroy an SSD with any file manager, check your hardware and Windows config.
Stop overclocking and use adequate configurations.

Also SSDs get throttled automatically when getting too hot, so they should never get destroyed by heat except when the cooling of the case is really really bad.

Fake news in post one, I think
Re: Automatic periodic cooldown pause for SD cards/SSD's to prevent overheating
Normal SATA drives aren't that fragile. The chip inside often isn't even coupled to the case for cooling or the case is plastic. They go packed tight in laptop.
I don't know about those bare board ones. They probably need a hefty heatsink.
