Dynamically/Automatically change folder date to that of most recent file

I am using [wcx]setfolderdate_1.3.0.0 to update my folder date to that of the last modified file, but it seems that this plugin has to be run each time to update folder dates. Is there a way of having the folder to automatically assume the date of the last modified file?

Thanks. I have gone through it. But there are so many links and suggestions that I don't know what works and what does not. There is a suggestion to use Everything's advanced settings, which I did but the change is not reflected in TC. Can you please summarize the answer here (i am sure this will be useful for many other users)? Thx.

Thank you for the pointer. However, when I tried the user button method, I get 'Function not implemented! em-redate_forlders_by_content'

You need to put a user command "em_redate_folders_by_content" in your 'usercmd.ini' as described there.

In fact, nothing is working in automatic mode at the moment. All the tools listed relate to the manual mode.
Even the author of Everything didn't want to implement such dynamics.

There is some chance that this feature will appear in Autorun. I can't say when. The search function is still under consideration in Todo.

The Windows file system only updates the Dir dates when its direct content is changed, not any level deeper.
So there will never be a safe automatic way.

I use the Nirsoft tool Folder Time Update.
It has a required command line options to run it,
using a scheduled task as often as desired.
