TC 11.50 Compare Content range selection moves away

Hello,
congrats and thanks for the 11.50 release!

I noticed an issue in the Compare Content dialog.

In the left panel, I click on a line of text, say line 100.
Then, I hold SHIFT and click on line 105.
All lines are selected from 100 to 105.
This is all good so far.

I realized I forgot to select line 106 so while still holding SHIFT I click line 106.
Here's the issue: now only lines 105 and 106 are selected instead of 100 thru 106.

Would you please have a look?

With SHIFT you can select lines between last two clicks.
To select additional lines press CTRL while clicking.

That's not how it usually works, though. So I can understand the OP's question.

This behavior has been there from the beginning, I'm guessing. I just tested TC 7.04a and it behaves exactly the same. Having a behavior this long makes me doubt it's going to be changed. But let's wait for Ghisler to chime in.

Interestingly I have commented out code which would implement this modified Shift+Click selection. I probably didn't get it to work at the time. I will try to implement it now.

If I remember correctly, it doesn't comply with IBM's CUA (Common User Access) (since 1987). That's probably why it was removed.

Range selection does work this way in the main Total Commander file lists, so it makes sense to make it work this way also in the compare tool. also text selection in notepad or Lister also works this way, even text selection in the compare tool when in edit mode.
