Result of this change is here that the icon is no longer displayed correctly (while in 11.51Rc1 it works well)history.txt Tc11.51rc2 wrote: 17.01.25 Fixed: Checksum files like .sha256 didn't have the checksum icon if they were opened at least once via "Open with" context menu (32/64)

Re: [Tc11.51rc2] Checksum files icon
Please explain what you mean with that. TC 11.50 showed a blank icon for .sha256 when I used "Open with" at least once. 11.50RC2 now show again the checksum icon with Σ (Sigma, often used for a sum) on it.

Re: [Tc11.51rc2] Checksum files icon
It shows a blank icon, even if I exit and restart Tc11.51rc2. I never use "open with", but [F4] (to show/not edit it with notepad++) and command "sort < inf.sha256 > outf.sha256" (at TCs commandline). *)
If I notice that blank icon, I "update" (by clicking tc1151x32_64_rc1.exe) back to tc11.51rc1 and the checksum icon with Σ (Sigma, often used for a sum) on it is shown. I do nothing within this Tc11.51rc1 and update again to tc11.51rc2 (by clicking tc1151x32_64_rc2.exe) and the icon is blank again.
Edit:
*) Maybe I do compare two checksum files with the TCs compare-tool (one of it on a share). I do not remember exactly. Maybe a relation with the icon problem which was successfully fixed in 11.51rc1 ("disappeared when opening "Synchronize dirs" or "Compare by content"")?
Hint: I always use Tc32bit and do not test Tc64bit.

Re: [Tc11.51rc2] Checksum files icon
When I test it:
TC 11.03: works OK.
TC 11.50: icon not shown with 32-bit and 64-bit TC.
TC 11.51rc1: icon shown with 32-bit, but not with 64-bit.
TC 11.51rc2: icon not shown with 32-bit and 64-bit TC.
TC 11.03: works OK.
TC 11.50: icon not shown with 32-bit and 64-bit TC.
TC 11.51rc1: icon shown with 32-bit, but not with 64-bit.
TC 11.51rc2: icon not shown with 32-bit and 64-bit TC.
Re: [Tc11.51rc2] Checksum files icon
Is there actually a bug report for the fix for RC2 that I quoted? I didn't find one after a quick look. So it could be that the supposed bug that you, ghisler(author), fixed only occurs on your, ghisler(author) ,computer and your configuration?

Yes, there was a bug report for TC 11.50, which I partially fixed for 32-bit in RC1, but overdid it, so certain icon overrides would no longer be possible. That's what I then fixed in RC2.

There must be some kind of association for checksum files on your system. Could you use my registry info tool for one affected extension so I can find out what the problem is, please?

Re: [Tc11.51rc2] Checksum files icon
I opened the .sha256 file once using the 'Open with' context menu. Then I got the results that I mentioned earlier.ghisler(Author) wrote: 2025-01-26, 08:45 UTC 2white

Here is what the tools shows when I try on Windows Sandbox and opening once with Notepad++:

Thanks, I was able to reproduce it with a fresh wincmd.ini.

Re: [Tc11.51rc2] Checksum files icon
This should be fixed in RC3, please test it!
26.01.25 Fixed: Checksum files like .sha256 still didn't have the checksum icon in some cases if they were opened at least once via "Open with" context menu (32/64)
