Sorry, I thought you meant that the scrollbar itself would change width, but it's only the scroll indicator and the arrow buttons, which only appear when hovering over the scrollbar. This is a much hated Windows 11 misfeature which unfortunately can't be turned off.
Can the TC panel hide the vertical scroll bar?

Good idea!beb wrote: 2025-01-29, 18:23 UTC 2NotNull
[Windows:] Start - Settings - Ease of Access - Display - [Display Section:] Simplify and personalize Windows
* Show animations in Windows [On|Off]
* Automatically hide scroll bars in Windows [On|Off]

Does switching this [On|Off] affect your described behavior?
Things look slightly different on Win11 with 3 related settings:
Always show scrollbars, Transparency effects and Animation effects.
I tested all combinations with a restart of TC in between (just to be extra sure):
Always show scrollbars, Transparency effects, Animation effects
0,0,0 => same
0,0,1 => same
0,1,0 => same
0,1,1 => same
1,0,0 => same
1,0,1 => same
1,1,0 => same
1,1,1 => same
So unfortunately no difference. Still a good idea though.
Are you saying the scrollbar "expands" on your system when the mouse hovers above it?ghisler(Author) wrote: 2025-01-30, 07:59 UTC [...] which only appear when hovering over the scrollbar.
Not here. I explicitly need to click on the TC scrollbar for that.
Other programs do show that behaviour indeed, but those do use the ListView control to show a list of files. I think TC is the only application on my system that uses the ListBox control (as said: out-of-the-box system)
Actually: I do like it that way. The scrollbar is just visible, so that you know where it is. Wnen starting to interact with the scrollbar, it will expand to an easier to use size. After use it will return to its original state. Good design in my book.This is a much hated Windows 11 misfeature which unfortunately can't be turned off
