TC Hangs when it is trying to read a drive that has been removed (external usb).
Nothing i try seems to close TC down. The only recourse seems to be a re-boot.
Any ideas and/or suggestions would be welcome
Thanks

Re: Crashing... trying to connect to drive
If I remove an external USB drive, the drive immediately disappears from the drive list and from the drive button bar in TC. So the drive cannot be selected and therefore TC does not try to read from it. If this is not the case in your system then the drive is probably not completely removed. Do you see the drive in Windows Explorer? And how did you remove the drive?

Re: Crashing... trying to connect to drive
I had this behaviour at another tab on active panel.
Switching to this tab with meanwhile removed device seems to hang.
Well, an external USB disk may in sleep mode after a while.
TC does not know if this is the case or it is finally removed.
TC just waits a while until the device is back to operation.
There is a message about not available device, if it does not answer after this delay though.

Re: Crashing... trying to connect to drive
Maybe. On the other hand if you remove the drive via the icon in the systray, it is waken up by the system, showing the message "Safely removed". Then its gone and TC will not show it anymore, hence the user will not be offered to re-read the drive. So - how did he/she remove the usb drive?
Addendum. If the drive is shown in an (inactive) tab, then this tab is not closed when you remove the drive. If you no active the tab, TC tries to reread the contents. But - at least on my system - the message "No such drive" is immediately shown. No hanging at all.

Re: Crashing... trying to connect to drive
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce that, I'm getting a "Drive not found!" error immediately.I had this behavior at another tab on active panel.
