No, SumatraPDF itself doesn't need any setting for Ctrl-F to focus the search field.
With the plugin, the current window is not SumatraPDF.

No. The cursor immediately after pressing Ctrl+F gets into the cursor field.

I only asked the question in connection with the plugin.

There must be some difference between how you use the plugin (Ctrl+F works immediately)
and how the user wjharing and I use it (Ctrl+F doesn't work immediately).

That's why I came up with the idea that you might use my SumatraPDF-settings.txt
and check whether the Ctrl+F behavior still works for you.

Otherwise, I currently have no idea why there is a different usage here.

I know, but SumatraPDF doesn't know anything about the plugin.
It just doesn't need or has any config entry for a feature which is built-in.
I guess AkulaBig just clicks in the search field, as I do, before entering any search text.
This field is always displayed on top and there is no need to enter any Ctrl-F to start typing

Yes, I agree, that sounds logical to me.

I found the reason. Your configuration file has nothing to do with it. The version 3.5.2 is to blame. I use version 3.2. In which the printing from TC Lister and the search also works. And with version 3.5.2, these options do not work. Apparently the reason is this.

Так работает SumatraPDF и изменить это нельзя :(

Do you know that Sumatrapdf is one of the few programs in which the developer provided for the work as a plugin? Slister plugin uses this opportunity. And I used to use it before. But starting with a specific version of Sumatrapdf, she began to be very buggy with this option. Therefore, now I do not use this option.

I work through the translator. You have to write, translate, insert a translation. Of course, different errors are possible. Have you tried a plugin on Sumatrapdf 3.2?

Ok, I never print from plugins
and the search is working for me with version 3.6.16779
So I will continue to stay with the newest versions.

Due to your request, I have now carried out a test with version SumatraPDF-3.2-64.exe.

The test result has NOT changed for me!
(TC SumatraPDF Plugin 1.18 <-> SumatraPDF-3.2-64.exe)

1. Press F3 Lister (sumatrapdf)
2. Ctrl+F -> the cursor is NOT positioned in the search field! || SumatraPDF-3.2-64.exe Ctrl+F ist working
3. F7 -> the cursor does NOT appear in the search field!
4. Click anywhere in the window -> Ctrl + F -> the cursor is positioned in the search field

I currently only use final versions of SumatraPDF.

I don't see any point in further testing, as the search field can be reached with one click.
Furthermore, I do a file content search in PDF files anyway with Everything or
Everything using the Windows search (Everything command -> si:).

For me this topic is done, I am happy to provide support for other topics.

Thanks for your efforts.

Search from TC Lister in SumatraPDF versions above 3.2 does not work. Look at my link. I have a search, print, etc. From the Lister menu.

Yes, with official versions of SumatraPDF 3.2 and it does not work for me. I use version 3.2 unofficial assembly.

Of course this is your business, what versions to use. I just wanted to say that the point is not in the plugin, but in the program itself. I don't know how best to do it. It is probably better to insert the version with which everything works. And then many questions that are not related to the plugin.

I search by clicking into the search field, this works fine for me in the actual beta.
I never use F7 for this task.
