Problem with LAN plugin

Post by *ChiMan »

I'm using the LAN plugin on my Samsung S23 (Android 14) to share files with my home computers.
I can access the shared folders on my desktop running Windows 10 Pro and 11 Pro, but I'm unable to open them on my other desktop and laptop with Windows 11 Home.

I've verified that all settings on all desktops and laptop are identical, and neither has a username or password to login. Does anyone have a solution for accessing shared folders on Windows 11 Home?

Computers:
- Desktop #1 W11 Home = no access
- Desktop #2 W11 Pro = access
- Desktop #3 W10 Pro = access
- Laptop #1 W11 Home no access

Mobile:
- Samsung S23 with Android 14
- Total Commander 3.5
- LAN plugin for Total Commander 3.56

Maybe you have entered the wrong Server name for Desktop #1 in the LAN plugin.

No, I checked and the server address is correct.

It strange that this problem only occurs in Windows 11 Home.

Maybe try with the computer name instead of the address.

No success either :(

Are there any setting which I need to enable in Windows 11?

Maybe check the "Advanced sharing settings" in Control Panel (Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings)

Make sure that "Turn on network discovery" and "Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices" are enabled.

Please also check your router settings. For example, some routers separate clients connected via LAN from those connected via WLAN. Please also check whether you phone is connected to the guest network, these are often separated from the main network.
