Problem of opening the wlx plugin very slowly for the first time

Post by *flychi »

TC itself functions correctly.
However, I first time opened the viewer plugin ( wlx ) after computer running, the waiting time was very long, and when I opened it again, it was very fast and no problem.
After my computer restart, this issue occurs again.
What could be causing this delayed loading?

The file content plugin ( wfx ) doesn't have this problem.

I used the wlx plugin: imagine,sumatrapdf,CADview.

The problem is the antivirus (Windows defender?). It re-scans files each time it gets new virus definitions. My guess is that one of the plugins is an UPX-packed dll, or very big, or both.

Most likely the problem is this:

What types of files are opened before hanging?

Using the SumatraPDF lister plugin gives no delay on any start-up.
Antivirus is Defender.
SumatraPDF x64 is at version 3.6.16779
Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3915)
TC 11.51 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1391a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.5.2.0, Listary Pro 6.3.2.88

What do you mean by a start-up?

What do you mean by a start-up?
TC start or Windows restart.
It makes no difference on the timing.
The first SumatraPDF is started with no delay and also any subsequent starts.

TC start or Windows restart.
There were no complaints about this.
The first SumatraPDF is started with no delay and also any subsequent starts.
Well it's not about what happens in your case, it's about how the plugin behaves in other conditions.

Not, of course.
But everyone can only say what happens on his environment.
Sometime one can follow steps to reproduce the problem
which is not possible in this case.
So the only statistic we get is how many users are report the same problem
or deny it for their own system.

There were 3 plugins listed. Of these, this one (among others from the author) is the most problematic in this regard. One can, of course, trust the statistics, or one can rely on one’s own experience.

I feel that the problem is more obvious when using the Imagine plugin, but not the sumatrapdf plugin.
It seems to appear after installing the Imagine plugin:
https://www.nyam.pe.kr/dev/imagine/#download
○Imagine_1.8.3_Unicode_Full.zip

Step 1, extract zip;
Step 2, replace/put all the files in it to the path c:\Program Files\totalcmd\plugins\wlx\Imagine\.

I also have installed this Imagine version and use it a lot.
There are no delays viewing image files with it.
Not on the first usage after starting TC or OS, and not on any subsequent use.
What image files do you view, maybe it's a problem with one of its plugins.

This is quite troublesome, Am I the only one who has this problem?

Yes, for example, to answer the questions.
Again, what image format do you read with Imagine ?
Or is your problem with many image formats ?

No problem with Imagine. The only slow plugin I have is the EdgeViewer plugin.

What is your settings for Imagine in the in the [ListerPlugins] section of your wincmd.ini - especially the X_detect= parameter ?

How big (in bytes) are the images typically your are viewing with Imagine?

2Horst.Epp:
The image formats I often view are JPG and PNG,But the problem seems to be the same.
2petermad:
[ListerPlugins]
0=C:\Program Files\totalcmd\plugins\wlx\Imagine\Imagine.wlx
0_detect="MULTIMEDIA"
The typical image is about tens to hundreds of KB,very small.
