Thumbnails for crw and thm files.
Is there a way to get thumbnails for these files for canon digital cameras? I've checked the option "Get from Irfran..." and have Irfanview as my viewer, but still don't get thumbnails. Thanks. Scott

Hello, welcome on board ! (sorry, I forgot
)
¤ XnView supports *.crw files at reading.
¤ About *.thm, I ought ask for a support in a next version (if planned), and will report the result here…
Kind regards,

Hi again,
- Please, could you place a small sample on a reachable URL, or any other way? I could test here under several Win (98 SE, XP-Pro…) and friends of the forum under Win 2K / NT…
- I linked that thread in the XnView-forum too
EDIT : … and got a reply :
« *.thm files are previews of videos or RAW images. Their (real) format is JPG. So, you must disable Tools menu or button “Options” >> “Browser” >> “File list” >> “Recognize only by extension”. Then, that might work… »

Scott,
a) try using JpegThumbs - https://plugins.ghisler.com/lsplugins/jpegthumbs.zip
b) if using XnView, try adding *.crw and *.thm to wincmd.ini - [Lister] - IviewAdditionalTypes. (See also Help - Section 4b.)

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
.crw
or else use konvertor (www.konvertor.net/indexe.html)

But IviewAdditionalTypes=*.crw help to view thumbs (but is so sloooow
)and show *.crw in internal lister...
Thanks to All for good topic and for the suggestions.
for me this not work, it allow view *.crw in external viewer (Alt+F3) onlycrw=C:\Program Files\XnView\xnview.exe ^.crw
And this enabled CRW thumbnails in TC?
But IviewAdditionalTypes=*.crw help to view thumbs (but is so sloooow

Sorry! I tried so many combinations, I made a mistake on which lines in the wincmd.ini program made it work. After more careful experimentation, here is what I find works to show thumbnails for either Canon crw files or Canon thm files. Since the thm is just a thumbnail of the crw file, you only need to see one if them. If you prefer to see only the thm, change *.crw to *.thm below. Scott
[Configuration]
Viewer=C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe
[Lister]
IView=1
IViewPath=C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe
IviewAdditionalTypes=*.crw
