Flat Drive buttons?

Post by *Fedorov »

First off, great work on v6.50, so glad I've bought it.

I keep seeing screenshots where people have got a FLAT Drive button toolbar - it's about the only thing I completely detest about the interface, although having a proper XP look is a definite must-have soon I hope.

Please could anyone provide me with a simple way to get them flat before I take a hammer to my screen and flatten them myself ;)

Help appreciated

Fedorov.

There are 3 possible looks of the drive buttons:
1. XP Style
2. Flat button
3. Usual button
To use each of them just do the following:
1. XP Style (of course, XP style of the Windows must be turned on): write WantXPLook=1 in wincmd.ini and restart TC.
2. Flat button: either turn off XP style in Windows or set WantXPLook=0; then go to Configuration -> Layout -> Show drive buttons (on) -> Flat buttons (on).
3. Usual buttons: the same as previuos, but "Flat buttons (off)".

Enjoy ;)

Hmmm I'm trying Lefteous's replacement drive icons so I've added my DriveLib= to the .ini file and they display fine.

However, if I plug my usb pendrive in WHILE TC is running, when it redraws the drive icons to add my removable disk J: that I plugged in, it redraws them all using the old default icons???!!!

Anyone able to confirm this issue please?

Thanks

What path have you set for the DriveLib value ?

Use %COMMANDER_PATH% instead of " .\" (for example)
TC#88260 -

Thank you for "WantXPLook=0".

I did't know it ago.

Hmm! WantXPLook is not documented in TC's help file. Christian? I actually couldn't find
any reference in the full history as well. What am I missing here?

I was actually looking for a totalcmd.exe.manifest file when I saw the OP. Not that I need it having Win XP, but it's handy to know this WantXPLook= option exists.

FWIW, I detest the flat icon look, so I knew what I was missing

:) Hello !
The file …cmd.exe.manifest has existed in some old version, but it has been embedded in the EXE … a long while ago.
