it should be on-/off-turnable...
Well, of course!

With a modern configurable toolbar system, those of us who need the central toolbar could have that, and those who don't, wouldn't have to!

A tool I requested---

Post by *Clo »

It would be really cool if you could have a button expand to create a new bar and then have a button on that bar expand again to create another new bar, but sadly I don't think that's possible.
:) Hello !
- A long while ago, I launched a plugin-request which the purpose was to create new bars automatically when the last currently installed becomes full…
- Although I wrote precise instructions, not any programmer has realised that tool. You can get the folder here.
- I had also requested a specialized tool-bar with small icons, because I don't like and don't use the folder-tabs (and I'm not the only…)
- A start is explained roughly on this page. Not any programmer for this too…

  Kind regards,
Claude

You can nest a new button bar in a button using the TCMenu plugin but only to one level.
Are you really sure?

Pretty sure yep. I tried calling TCmenu again from a button within a TCmenu dropdown expanded menu but it didn't work. Even if I could get it to work, it wouldn't look right anyway coz the first TCmenu disappears as soon as you select something on it, so even if I could get it to work, the appearance would be of having a floating menu in the middle of the screen not attached to the parent top button bar by any means.

The reason I wanted to do so, is that I do a lot of video editing and there are a great many tools required for such an activity - that was the reason for creating the first drop down menu to house all the different tools needed one of which is VirtualDub. Then within that there are a few different mods of VirtualDub which are good for handling different types of video files so within that initial drop down menu I wanted another nest menu for each of the different VirtualDub mods I use.

Hmm...
TCMenu's readme.txt wrote:Version 1.8
- Added support for nested .bar files. If choosen item contains in the command field .bar file name this bar will displayed instead of current menu. If parameter field contains word "menu", this .bar file will be attached to main menu as submenu.
a few different mods of VirtualDub
How many of them exist? I know only of VirtuallDubMod...

TIA

Hmmm indeed...

Maybe I should have another bash at trying to get it to work. From what I remember the documentation is not terribly good at explaining how to set it up to work so maybe that was my problem. Anyway, I shall have another bash at it.

There are 4 versions of VDub that I use for various different things:

VirtualDub
VirtualDubMod
VirtualDub v1.3c (for opening ASF/WMV files)
VirtualDub-MPEG2

but then of course there are also...

VirtualDub Sync &
VirtualDub MP3 Freeze as well

TC lets you link any button to a "sub" toolbar, ie. to any other toolbar. I have built several "interlocking" toolbar systems for my TC in the past.

As a matter of design "policy", the first button of each of my subtoolbars links back to the (a) toolbar that called it. In this way you can build hierarchical toolbar systems in TC.

In the past I have requested a cm_DisplayPreviousToolbar command so that the "return" links could be implicit, but that has not been implemented. This means you have to explicitly assign a specific toolbar to the "go back" or "return" button.

I have sketched out the design of an external tool for managing TC toolbar hierarchies that would add a "meta" layer to the toolbar design process and implicitly build "return to previous" buttons for any arbitrarily designed toolbar hierarchy. It's not a big deal to code such a thing in Delphi, but I never have found the time... maybe one of the enterprising developers who frequent this forum could come up with something.

After all, TC toolbars are simply ini files.

Thanks for using the word "personally"! ;)

That says it all. Some people like it some don't. So, one more GUI element that must be configurable under the ON/OFF scheme. :P

My key haven't arrived yet. Ordered i tuesday and the money have been transfered. Anyone reading this thread have ordered it from the Danish reseller, and know how long time it will take? I'm beginning to miss the TC v6.50 installation :) Still 6.02 here.

Then please download it from ghisler.com. Its only about 1,6 MByte and would work fine, even without key. The only disadvantage is that you'll have to press (or click ;) ) 1, 2 or 3 to close the NAG-Screen at startup. After that you will get all features of TC without any restriction.

And if you have a key for this 6.02 you'll have to copy it to the new installation -folder and it will work for 6.5 too. Or if you install to the old 6.02 folder you would not even hsve to copy the key.

What a pity!! TC 6.50 don't have a command to "copy tab to other panel". You still need to use the right click. I think it's not hard to implement this and it would be good for people who don't like to use mouse in TC...

It's not the same. Try to do this on a packed file. But thanks anyway. I hope it will be implemented as soon as possible. I don't know why these commands are not yet implemented...

Well, you can also use TC Script to do something like Tab, Ctrl-T, Tab, cm_MatchSrc.
