smart history list and tabs list (wishlist)

Post by *Sensus »

Hello!

I want to see more convenient history and tabs management in TC.

1. I often use history (Atl + arrows), but there are only 25 entries a list. Extending the list is not a solution. So I suggest to keep history only of the longest path (i.e. not \1, \1\2, \1\2\3, \1\2\3\4\5, but only one line \1\2\3\4\5). Selection of any subpath can be made with Shift+click (like in current directory line). Also most recent paths can be highlighted in list with bold beginning.

2. Another great thing is saving a history. Using Alt+left arrow is very convinient. But after computer restart I need to find all my last used folders (or duplicate tabs).

3. Once I had 81 and 97 tabs on left and right side of TC. The main reason for this is that I prefer to Ctrl+T tab and change directory. Many folders have long names so only 6-8 tabs can fit in line. That's why it is very difficult to find a proper tab (I don't like scrolling by one step and trying to remember where this tab is located). My wish is to have an ability to view tabs list. For example, Atl+up arrow can call pop up list (just like the history list) with tabs and their paths, so one can select a proper one.

P.S. If my post is not clear, then ask me and I'll try to explain.

1. Yes, there's been a suggestion about saving only paths where something has been done else than browsing.

2. Yep, already requested, too.

3. Requested on the German forum IIRC, an Opera-like list.

I am not sure of the Author's opinion about these, though. So keep requesting! ;)

In NetCaptor (a tabbed Browser), there is a Tab menu hat lists all of the opened tabs. There is also a menu item that lists all recently closed tabs and allows them to be reopened.

I think TC could use both these features.
