[Bug?] Show only files does not work.

Post by *Flint »

I tried to show only files without folders: Show -> Custom..., Define, Attributes (on), Directory (off), Save template. Then I select the saved filter, but it does not work: all files and folders are shown as earlier. What can be the problem here?
BTW, if I make the filter for showing only folders without files, it works properly.

You cannot hide directories.

Sorry, I don't know. Please ask a member of the development team. :-)

Indeed the filters only work on files, not folders in this case, because it would make navigation impossible in most cases.

Custom filters show only files?

Post by *Viggo »

Hi,

>>Indeed the filters only work on files, not folders in this case, because it would make navigation impossible in most cases.<<

Why?

I would like very much to filter on directories as well as files, even show directories ONLY, and with filtered names using regular wildcards, for example: *Down* would show all directories containing "Down" in their names.

I don't see what problem this should have with navigation.

Actually, at times a proper directory structure can be a pretty good "database", especially with an excellent fast tool like Total Commander :)

Please reconsider!

I fully agree with Viggo. Lets assume that we know what we do, when filtering a panel. I also find it very annoying, when i want to filter a view, and still have to stare at all directories.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!
