Logic request for Multi rename tool
Hi, All
I have a question isn't it logic to disable "Start!" button after hitting it and the files renamed?
some times i accidentally press Enter key twoice in this case i lose the ability to Undo.
but if "Start!" disabled this would prevent this mistake to occur.

Re: Logic request for Multi rename tool
I assume that 'start' is still enabled for the case one (or more) file(s) couldn't be renamed. So you could change your settings and rename the remaining.ts4242 wrote:Hi, All

In my opinion you're right. It would be much better 'start' would be disabled after renaming.
When renaming for some files fails I usually undo the change and try to find better settings.
The re-enabling of the start button could make dependent to a change in the renaming settings.

maybe the correct question should be "isn't it logic to disable "Start!" button after hitting it and ALL files renamed?"
this is the suitation i was talking about!
I know this situation, if some files remaining and you hit "Start!" again an error message will appear BUT you still able to UndoI assume that 'start' is still enabled for the case one (or more) file(s) couldn't be renamed. So you could change your settings and rename the remaining.

As I said: I think you are right.ts4242 wrote:maybe the correct question should be "isn't it logic to disable "Start!" button after hitting it and ALL files renamed?"

Eihter disable the start button
or prevent clearing of the undo List if nothing was renamed.

Please add to the todo list:
1. Disable "Start!" button when file list window is empty
2. When files are renamed into their original names, either
* display a message that nothing is renamed and
* do not clear the Result list and
* do not disable the Undo button if it was enabled
or
* rename the files into their original names and
* create a new Result list for these actions and
* enable the Undo button

About Multirename (a little off topics) :
is it possible to choose the field to edit with a key ? (I don't want to use the mouse, and the Tab is not easy).
BTW, Alt-I in the MultiRename windows opens the menu of the wdx plugins (the same menu I see if I press the + button at the right of the "Custom columns" edit window). This only if I use the italian language.

gfusi,

It could be possible by editing the wcmd_eng.lng file, hopefully someone posts a link to it.About Multirename (a little off topics) :

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
Hacker,
The Alt-i is a mystery: the language file (ita) correcly has
no: the labels are not linked to the fields. If I insert a &, the label change, but the Alt-key doesn't activate the field. It could be possible by editing the wcmd_eng.lng file

Sorry, but you 100% wrong, the &-Trick works for the following fields:gfusi wrote:Hacker,no: the labels are not linked to the fields. If I insert a &, the label change, but the Alt-key doesn't activate the field. It could be possible by editing the wcmd_eng.lng file

Filename, Extension, Search for (the upper one), Writing (Big/Small),
Define Counter (the first Box)...so as you can seen nearly every box is
reachable throug ALT+Key only "Replace with" must be reach with Tab after
reaching Search for and the 2nd and 3rd Counterbox have to be reached
through Tab after reaching the first one

Yes the wrongly underline-g-error is here too

Hoecker sie sind raus!
