[REQ] Integrate navigation buttons in title bar (like in DO)
Well, the topic says it all.
Now that the path is clickable to change directories it would be nice to have navigation buttons integrated directly in the title bar to the left, too.
As a mouse user right now it's like that:
For history forward/backward you have to press buttons in button bar.
For "Dir up" you need to press [..] in panel or the hardcoded [..] button.
Goto root dir with hardcoded [\].
Etc...
Directory Opus solution is simply great, just check the explanation here and you will know what I mean:

It's so much easier to navigate when everything is in one place.

Hello Jeff !
- Sounds good globally …
- However, I see a possible inconvenience : very long paths might be truncated (in the mean of the path, indeed) to keep a sufficient space for such buttons.
- IMHO, they could be easily shown / hidden via an internal command; that could be a workaround to that inconvenience.
Friendly,

Don't you know anymore? The catch phrase is "Optional only", as always...However, I see a possible inconvenience : very long paths might be truncated (in the mean of the path, indeed) to keep a sufficient space for such buttons.

What about some sweet mini button at the left of the title bar being able to hide the navigation buttons with your proposed command?
If that's not possible just additional wincmd.ini setting:
TitleNavigationBar=0/1 which defaults to 0 of course.

...or we can have the buttons appear via a hover-over method of the mouse pointericfu wrote:If that's not possible just additional wincmd.ini setting:

at a specific part of the path area (not the path itself of course).
PS: I forgot to say that I also support this feature!

I basically agree, but how about this way:
Plus the "more complex" Hotlist and History buttons very close to them.
I see this as a good compromise.
On the other hand, IMHO, buttons like "Display this folder in the other file display", "Swap file displays" or "Toggle vertical/horizontal" from DO are just vasting too much space of the title bar. For me these should stay in the button bar.
- Switch the location of \ and .. buttons with Hotlist and History buttons
- Add back/forward navigation buttons next to \ and .. buttons in the title bar
