lister "wrap to window" option!!

Post by *gadz »

The only thing that has ever really bugged me about Totalcmd was that lister only uses absolute widths to wrap text.
I use Ctrl+q and my screen resolution is changed a fair bit for many reasons, I hate having to continually resize the quickviewpane so the text fits, or change the amount of characters it wraps it to.

It would be so great if the Lister part of Totalcmd had an option that added "wrap to window (pane) width". For now all it has is the "Display width (characters per line)" option which is good for some situation, but for me, not most.

as a workaround you could try the lister Plugin SynPlus, it offers Word wrap, Syntax highlighting, direct edit function and much more.

This feature has been asked for several times. The only current workaround is to set "TabWidth=1" in wincmd.ini and to set characters per line to a smaller value.

I suggest using ListXP instead, a fantastic lister alternative, able to calculate line numbers and many other nifty features:

I'm using ListXP, it's great.
However you can't use it in Quick-view mode, since it's an external application...

That's true, of course.
Unfortunately the ListXP author is rather occupied and hasn't updated the app for a long time now although he wanted to do at the end of 2004.

So I think that he won't have the time to do a TC lister plugin right now for sure. ;)
