It's available now to store search results and opened dirs in separate tabs. But many potential opportunities of this tabbed interface are not implemented. I think it would be very well to implement functions:
1. Option to send search results to NEW tab.
2. Printing search request in Current Directory bar.
2. Possibility to combine several tabs with search results.
3. Possibility to "copy" arbitrary file to existing/new Search Result tab.
4. Possibility to delete file name from search results but not from disc.
5. Save Search Results list to file. (with Save tabs to file command?)
6. Option to view only filenames or with dirs.
Is it temporary dirs? Yes it is. And it's very convenient.
[Feature Request] Full support of "Search result"
Moderators: Hacker, petermad, Stefan2, white
Holding Shift key while pressing feed to list opens in new tab.
Point 2 I don't understand, sorry.
The rest is temporary container stuff, you have my full support there and I am sure that one day that feature will be implemented. You know the old threads where these features were discussed, don't you?

Thanks. It's a good news for me.icfu wrote:Holding Shift key while pressing feed to list opens in new tab.
2. "Current directory bar" shows current directory (see Configuraion/ Options/ Layout/ Show current directory) for dir panel and nothing for search results panel. I want to see string "ap*.exe" on it if i search files with mask "ap*.exe". Or something like that.icfu wrote:Point 2 and point 2 (misnamed) I don't understand, sorry.
2(misnamed). If I have 3 files "a*.*" in one search results tab and 4 files "b*.*" in another tab I want to be able combine them in one tab with 7 files.
I know that there are many topics about temporary containers. But with tabbed interface of TC 6 the theme takes on new significance. Tabs allow to implement this function much more organically.icfu wrote:The rest is temporary container stuff...
In fact, I want to say not about new functionality but about organic and intuitive combination of new functions. I think that it is very important not simply to implement new functions but to build them in single whole of the program. I didn't think about the theme of temporary containers when TC had only two panes, but now...
Besides, command show/comments is unnecessary now. Tabstop header in this mode (Name|Ext|Size|Date|Attr) looks curiously. The same view with comments (with right tabstop header) is available now in custom columns mode.
