TCMENU VERSION 1.9

Post by *RICKVIVENTI »

DEAR TC FRIENDS,
I HAVE THE NEW TCMENU V. 1.9, INSTALLED, AND HAVE TRIED TO ACCESS THE NEW FEATURE "DROP DOWN MENU". THE "NESTED BAR" FEATURE WILL NOT WORK FOR ME, ALTHOUGH I SPENT AN HOUR TRYING TO UTILIZE THE MINIMAL INSTRUCTIONS TO GET IT TO WORK.
WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE SHOW ME AN EXAMPLE HOW THIS "NESTED"
FEATURE WORKS. PLEASE INCLUDE ANY KNOWN ISSUES THAT KEEP IT FROM WORKING.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP,

RICK VIVENTI

What's wrong with your CAPSLOCK key ?
Try to write readable text, it helps others to understand your questions.

What do you mean with "WILL NOT WORK FOR ME" ?
Please describe your setup and the results.

THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE.
YOU REQUESTED MY SETUP.
IT IS AS FOLLOWS:
IBM CLONE MACHINE ,CPU =2.4 GHZ, MEMORY = 512 MB, 2 HARD DRIVES; ONE IS 117 GB, THE OTHER IS 160 GB, ONE CD READ ONLY CD-ROM, ONE CD-RW CD ROM, 57 KHZ MODEM, CABLE INTERNET ACCESS, VISIONEER SCANNER, LEZMARK Z715 PRINTER, DESKTOP SPEAKERS.
I HAVE TOTAL COMMANDER 6.50 INSTALLED.
WHEN I SAY IT DOES NOT WORK FOR ME, I MEAN THAT ALL THE THINGS THAT I HAVE TRIED HAVE NOT WORKED . I NEED HELP FROM SOMEONE THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO INSTRUCT ME ON THE BASICS, AND GIVE ME AN EXAMPLE SO I CAN FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS.
I HOPE THIS IS HELPS TO ENABLE YOU TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS AND GIVE INSTRUCTION. THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT COME WITH THE FILE ARE VERY BASIC AND DO NOT REALLY TELL HOW TO PROCEED.

THANKS,

RICKVIVENTI

TC Menu and "nested bars" are not the same approach ...

For TC Menu (or TCToolbar):
In the 1st bar, create a button :
Command : "pathto\TCMenu.exe"
Parameter : "fullpathto\2ndbarfile.bar"
(you can add -$ in the parameter for smaler icon)
Icon : whatever you want

For Nested bar:
Nested bar call themselves recursively... there is an example somewhere

Yep! This tool intented for users familiars with bitton bars. I recommend first learn how TC works with multiple button bars (defining, switching, command assignment etc.) and only after this going to TCmenu and/or TCToolbar program.

THANKS FOR THE SPEEDY REPLY.
I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH BUTTON BARS, ETC. NOW I NEED A WORKING EXAMPLE OF HOW THE NESTING FUNCTION WORKS IN T.C.MENU.
A SIMPLE EXAMPLE OF WHAT YOU HAVE THAT WORKS FOR YOU, WILL BE APPRECIATED.

THANKS,

@icfu:
Not a good idea! If I used the ignore button in this way I would have missed your comment, and that would simply mean less fun... :D

@rickviventi
You have already asked for help with TCMenu in a previous thread and I gave you a quite lengthy answer. Maybe I'm immodest but I would be interested if it was of assistance for you...

Maybe true, but not implicitly. ;) In the end you can have a lot of fun reading threads where 50% of all answers are ignored and only the 50% you are interested in are visible.

Try out playing the game "What's this thread about?" for example when it starts with "SHOUTINGUSER is on your ignore list". You will have a lot of fun, especially when playing it with your wife or your children or whomever. Better than TV at least, I'd say. ;)

DEAR WILHELM GRUSSE,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND INTEREST. YOU FOR ONE DO NOT APPEAR TO BE IN THIS FORUM SIMPLY TO ABUSE YOUR FELLOW ENTHUSIASTS FOR T.C..
YOU PREVIOUS RESPONSE WAS HELPFUL IN TERMS OF ALLOWING ME TO SET UP AND USE THE "TABS" FEATURE AND BUTTON BARS.
NOW I NEED SOME HELP IN USING A NEW T.C. FEATURE THAT APPEARED IN THE V. 1.8 OF TCMENU.
I WOULD APPRECIATE AN EXAMPLE, THAT WORKS FOR YOU, SHOWING HOW TO USE THE "DROP DOWN MENU"
THAT IS CLAIMED POSSIBLE FOR THAT VERSION.
AN EXPLANATION, AS WELL AS AN EXAMPLE WOULD BE EVEN MORE HELPFUL.
THANK YOU

Why are you shouting?
Maybe an explanation would help us to understand what's wrong with you. Honestly I have no clue as you have already proven that you are able to write without any caps in the thread you just mentioned:
http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=6312#49724

So, any ideas?
