[Bug] Focus problem with rename

Post by *silencer »

Hi,

I found a little focus bug in the rename function ("Doubleclick" or Shift-F6).

The first part of the name is not displayed. Or better... Only the last 20 caracters are diplayed.

It only happens the first time TC is used.

Bug is since v6.50

Greetz,

It seems that Windows itself is moving the name to the left, because that's the size of the edit box before TC resizes it to the needed size. I will check if I can do anything about it.

Interestingly enough, I emailed Christian about this bug before I saw this thread. In his reply, Christian denied it was a bug, instead he said it was a 'requested feature' and that 'you can't have everything'. ******** **** isn't he? I hope he eats humble pie after he reads my reply, where I have pointed him to this thread where he admits it is a bug. He can certainly do something about it - revert the part of the code that causes this to the v6.50 version, where the bug does not occur.

I would not call him arrogant. Christian works through a lot of emails. If you cannot spend too much time on each email you are not always right. In my experience he does a reasonable job. Would you do as well as he does?

I see what you mean.
TC v6.03a - bug NOT present
TC v6.50 - bug present
TC v6.51 - bug present

I must have misunderstood your e-mail, sorry. A requested feature was the resizing of the input box to the column width, not any modifications of the name...
