Here's an interesting development... I've found that it is no longer showing garble on every other mp3, but instead, every single MP3 after the first one.... If I select an MP3, it quick-views fine.. but if i select another, it tries to draw the player GUI and then shows garble... Same with the next, and the next.. But if I click off to a text file or directory and then onto another MP3, it views fine... but each subsequent mp3 is garble...

That is exactly the problem you described in your first posting, nothing changed obviously.

If you activate "Multimedia AVI/WAV" in lister options the first MP3 is loaded correctly, this is the expected behaviour. If you deactivate that option you see "garble" how you call it which is in fact the binary view so you have to press "4" to change to multimedia manually.

I have already suggested you to do a parallel installation, have you done that meanwhile?

Perhaps a problem with different Windows Media Player versions? The lister uses a function from Windows to show a Windows Media Player progress bar inside of Lister.
