Ext/Size columns not overlap in Custom columns view

Post by *silent »

In normal view (Show > Full) Size column can overlap Ext column - this is very handy because if Ext column is wider (to accommodate longer extensions) then Size may overlap this space, so no wasting occur.

But in Custom columns view Size column CAN'T overlap Ext - instead size of file is truncated if column can't accommodate it. (ae. "123 456 .." bytes instead of "123 456 789" bytes)

Is there a way to make Size/Ext in Custom column view overlap like in regular view?

AFAIK, the columns in custom view don't have the flexibility you are talking about from the Full view.
Wish:
Maybe a new align mode could be introduced for the custom columns additionally to the "->" and "<-", that would permit overlap to the previous coulmn like in Full view?

Indeed they can't overlap because (other than in full view) TC cannot make any assumptions about other columns - their data types are reported by the plugin "on the fly".

Yes, that would be nice improvement. :-) This probably should be like disabling of shortening to dots ("123 ..") than simple overlaping.
