Bug in packer plugin interface concerning 'Synch. Dirs'?

Post by *Juergen »

I tested the following with Total Commander 6.51 (on Windows 98).
With my packer plugin, I opened one archive in the left panel of TC, and another archive in the right panel. Then I choose "Commands" > "Synchronize Dirs..." > "Compare". I right-clicked on a line in the results, where TC showed that the entries on the left and on the right side are unequal. Then I chose "Delete left", and after asking for confirmation, TC deleted the regarding file in the archive on the right panel. I figured out that this was because the right panel has been active before I called "Commands" > "Synchronize Dirs...".

I don't think that this is a bug in my plugin. When the function DeleteFiles() in my plugin displays the full path and name of the archive that it gets as parameter, it always shows the name of the archive on the panel, which has been active before I called "Commands" > "Synchronize Dirs...", regardless whether I choose "Delete left" or "Delete right".

Regards, Juergen

PS: View left/right works as expected.

Hmm, very strange - I will try to reproduce it. I'm surprised that you can compare two archives at all, this shouldn't work...

Have you been able to do so? If it helps, I can send you my concerning .wcx file, of course.

In TC's "history.txt" file it reads:

<quote>
New in Total Commander 6.0 final (17.11.03):
...
[Synchronize dirs]
...
- Sync now also works with archives other than ZIP! Everything except for compare by contents is supported
</quote>

That's why I had the idea to try it out. :)
