Synchronize usin sFTP

Post by *Vacilando »

Hi

I am very happy with the workaround (local timestampint) TC uses to synchronize local directories with FTP directories.

However, I need to synchronize also via the sFTP plugin - but that does not work:
Every time I synchronize, all files appear again as before.
Checking content compare does not do a thing.
Ignoring date helps - only non-synchronized files appear, but then there is the red non-equation sign which prevents me from hitting "synchronize" before choosing the transfer direction for every single item... so that is not a solution, either.

Can you advise? Thanks...

You need to contact the sftp autor and ask him whether he could add the sending of dates with files - don't know whether this works with any servers, though...

Native SFTP-support??

Post by *wolf »

I have used TC as my FTP client for a long time, because it was the best FTP-client I knew.

But because of the lack of a native SFTP-support I have switched to WinSCP.
It has a NC-like GUI and
  • a two-click-synchronize-feature and
  • a synchronize-browsing-feature and
  • a keep-remote-directory-up-to-date-feature.
  • an exclude mask (e.g. to prevent the transfer of the files of the versioning system)
So please Mr. Ghisler think about making TC a good, complete FTP-client again. :D

Sorry, for legal reasons I cannot add any kind of encryption to TC. What is the problem with the SFTP plugin?

It works in WinSCP, so I suppose it is easy to fix that for the TC SFTP plugin as well.

Better even, why not considering including SFTP functionality within TC - so as you have done with FTP?
