Rename network folder: TC much slower than Windows Explorer

Post by *latus »

I have the strange behaviour that if I rename a folder/subdirectory on a network drive that TC is much slower than the standard windows explorer.
I.e. the TC Shift-F6 > new name > Enter takes approx. 8 seconds, the Windows Explorer F2 > new name > Enter is done immediately.

I tried to switch some options like the copy method but did not succed.

Also strange: Renaming of files in TC is as fast as in WinExplorer.

I can't tell exactly but since I am using TC since the WC times this behaviour is only since the current version. Unfortunately I can't tell since which version.

If anyone could help would be great because I have the great job to rename a lot of network directories (unfortunately not in a way I could script it :? )

Thanks a lot in advance!

Sounds like a big treeinfo.wc in the root (server with many subdirs). Delete it, and then don't use the Alt+F10 tree.
