What new plugins would you like?
Plug-ins are the most exciting recent addition to Total Commander, and many good ones have already been made.
I've opened this thread so that Total Commander users can post their ideas for new plugins. What would you like to see? Hopefully, the ideas posted in this thread will inspire programmers to create useful and fun new tools.
Here is one that I'd love to see: a Clipboard management plug-in that stores the clipboard contents everytime that they change, and that allows you to quickly browse, combine and paste-back these clipboard items.
I'd also like an Instant Messenger plugin and a Space Invaders plug-in, but I don't think that those are technically feasible yet :)
And one for Christian: It would be nice if plug-ins could be activated from the menu or button bar.

A nice plugin would be something to view (and maybe edit) MP3 tags (IDv1/v2) with.
And if this could be combined with the multi-rename-tool, that would be really cool.
to CopyCats and every next reader:
Hi!, to use plugins from the button-bar, just make a button with a command like this:
CD \\\Task manager
'Task manager' is the plugin name (not the plugin filename) and it is case sensitive.

CVS and MSVSS tools..
currently I am running a crappy own batch file on f4 that tries to checkout a file for editing, but its quite crappy... ;D
I think CVS / MSVSS instead of being FSPlugins would be better to be compression plugins, but then on the other hand, they would not be able to perform special commands on different access type (execute vs f3 vs copy).

I'm now using ID3Tag InfoTip to view MP3 tags. It works fine for me and is free. http://www.contextmagic.com/Maxwish wrote:A nice plugin would be something to view (and maybe edit) MP3 tags (IDv1/v2) with.

If you want to edit MP3 tags, maybe you could try mp3ext. http://odin.mutschler.de/mp3ext/

err...yeah CTRL+L can tell me the sum of subdirectories. But it's not convinent. I have to go back to the PARENT directory and put the cursor on the directory i care about and then press the shortcut.fabiochelly wrote:CTRL + A, then CTRL + La plugin which can count the sum of subdirectories of current panel
It will be perfect if the status bar can show me the total sum of subdirectories and files under certain directory, as well as the sums of subdirectories and files selected. Isn't it better?

I tried again. And I figured out that CTRL+L is not what I want, coz it will count all subfolders of current folder RECURSIVELY. That is, CTRL+L will count all subfolders, along with all subfolders in each subfolder...fabiochelly wrote:You forgot "CTRL+A"
if you're in the current folder, CTRL+A select all files and folders then CTRL+L shows the total
What I want is, for example: There're 10 subfolders in current folder, I'm going to copy 6 of them to another location. I wish TC could confirm me that I DO select 6 (instead of 5 or 7) subfolders before copy operation.
depends on configuration -> operation -> selection :fabiochelly wrote:if you're in the current folder, CTRL+A select all files and folders ...
if you choose 'select files only' (that's my configuration), Ctrl-A selects only thes files, and Ctrl-L sums only the files, without the subdirectories.

So my config is better than yoursif you choose 'select files only' (that's my configuration), Ctrl-A selects only thes files, and Ctrl-L sums only the files, without the subdirectories.

TC shows in the confirmation dialog the number of elements that are to be copiedI wish TC could confirm me that I DO select 6 (instead of 5 or 7) subfolders before copy operation

It's just one special example.fabiochelly wrote: TC shows in the confirmation dialog the number of elements that are to be copied
The information of sum of subfolders (all or selected) in current folder is the same important as of files for users, and should be always showed by a file manager, IMHO.
Do wish it will be a new feature of coming TC version, at least as a possiable option.
