Can not make Imagine 0.9.0.0 beta 10 work

Post by *petermad »

I have previously used Imagine v. 0.8.4.0 without any problems, but I can not make Imagine 0.9.0.0 beta 10 work at all.

I simply just get the message: " imagine.DLL was not found"

I have both tried to install 0.9.0.0 beta 10 over the old version 0.8.4.0 and I have tried to completely remove imagine and do a fresh install of version 0.9.0.0 beta 10.

The file imagine.DLL is most certainly present in the imagine install directory - I have even tried placing imagine.dll in the TC directory itself, and in directories in the path (c:\windows and c:\windows\system32).

I am running TC v. 6.52, but have also tried installing 0.9.0.0 beta 10 under TC 6.51 with the same result.

Has anybody else experienced this problem :?:

Have you really manually removed ALL Imagine files (also subdirectories - especially subdirectory: .\Plugin) during removing the old version? If not, do it.

Hello petermad,

I'm having that problem frequently with Imagine. Last time I made the following strange experience. After a manual installation of imagine, the error occured. Really don't know the reason. See, I'm not a TC beginner and I have installed dozens of plugins before. Certainly I did not make an obvious mistake - but it did not work.

So I removed Imagine completely and thereafter I used the auto-intall feature of TC 6.51. And - trallala - the plugin worked like hell!
Grüße/Regards,
Wilhelm

No I had left the folder itself without any files. I have now done it also deleting the imagine folder - and now it worked. Thank you.

Yes I did restart TC after installation

As you can see from my answer to djk - also erasing the folder helped. Thanks.

I am no novice to TC either - I have been using it since 1994 (version 1.30e) , My registration number is as low as 524.

This really puzzles me - and I think it is something for the author of imagine to look into.

At Totalcmd.net there is already the info:
*** NOTE: Please delete all the previous plugins (Plugin/*.DLL) ***
There should be the same in readme but there isn't, now. :-(

What puzzles me is that I did delete all files, just not the folders.

I tried to recreate the error, but now everything works OK when installing beta10.
