[req] Explorer Context menu in Synchronize window

Post by *djorge »

Hi all,

I use clearcase in my job, and i usually must synchronize several versions. So i use the excellent Synchronize fetaure.

But before i can synchronize the files, i must check out the files found by the syncrhonize feature.

I would be great if i could select all the files i want to check out from the Synchronize window through the Explorer context window.

Another option is to have "Feed to List Box" feature like in the Find Files window. Afteryard i could select the files and check out or do whatever i want to.

I really miss this feature!!
Regards,
djorge

Yes, sounds like a good idea to support the properties dialog. However, not all shell extensions seem to work when called with files from multiple directories, you can try this e.g. in search - feed to listbox.

When i want to checkout all the files and subs i use the brach view and it works fine. All the files are checked out through the explorer context menu.

What is the properties dialog?

Sorry, I meant both the context menu and properties (Right click - properties).

Well, ten years and many versions later... To continue from here: http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=12295

I tried to add it, but unfortunately it was causing too many problems. Example: A user could try to rename a file in the sync window, and TC wouldn't know about it and show an error because the file can no longer be found.
As one can notice, in the meanwhile you have a bit given way in your hard-line fool-proof attitude not to let a user to do anything [strike]wrong[/strike] in modal windows.

Say, in TC 8.50 we've got (at least!) the option to start a search in a separate window. Fine! Also we've got now an option to rename files directly (F6 and Shift+F6), thus we don't need anymore Explorer context menu to do it. I suppose, that other counterarguments against calling OS context menu from the Synchronize Dirs window might become outdated too.

So, could you please revise in the same vein the attitude to let a user to call a regular OS Windows Explorer context (pop-up) Right-click menu from the Synchronize Dirs window (say, with Ctrl+RMB and Ctrl+Shift+F10).

Hello.

The problem presented in this post is very similar to my problem, so I am not writing a new post and I write here.

1). Is there any chance now to context menu Windows/Explorer in the Synchronization (eg. long, click the right mouse button and then the show)?

2). Is it possible to add custom position an existing context menu in the Synchronization (eg. the command line command for a single file or multiple selected, open in Notepad etc.)? Modifying the configuration file or write a small plugin?

Hi all!

My native language is german. That means I do not understand everything in detail written in this thread but I hope my request is in line with this topic...

I would like to have the option "show in windows explorer" when I right click on a file in the "Synchronize directories" window to be able to check details or the context of a file which I want to synchronize.

Is it possible to add this simple feature in a near future version?

Best regards
Thomas

Hello!

I understand that this is CURRENTLY not supported. But why not implementing that in the near future? I think this is not big deal.

Thanks and
best regards

The option

"Bei Antworten immer benachrichtigen:
Sendet Ihnen eine E-Mail, wenn jemand auf einen Ihrer Beiträge antwortet. Kann für jeden Beitrag geändert werden."

is set to "yes".

But I do not get any notification????

Is that because I am coding in Lazarus?
