Useful 3rd party tools to complement TC

Two great command line tools so incredibly powerful that you can't live without them anymore.

1. nircmd
It can beep your PC speaker, copy content of files to clipboard, eject CDROM, modify volume, hide windows, show message boxes, modify INI files like wincmd.ini and even replace LST2MULTI. This will start notepad with all marked files:

Maybe LST2STR can be replaced, too. Still checking that.

What can I say more? This is one of the most impressive command line tools I have ever seen, and all hidden in incredible 24kb.

2. CMDOW Commandline Window Utility
This (oops, what a fat monster) 31kb baby is specialized in window manipulation of all kinds, version 2.0 is on the way and will probably be able to make coffee and eggs for breakfast.

But what is the advantage of those above AHK or AI3?

Why do you compare them with AHK or AI3?

They can be used in batch files, they are smaller, faster and more specialized and you don't have to write complicated scripts if you want to do easy tasks, all switches are explained in help file on one site.

So now I wonder whether it is about time that the title of the thread is changed to:

"Useful 3rd party tools to complement TC"

- I don't think that most of the third party programs are polite enough to pay any compliments to TC

Great and FREE tool to search and replace Text in multiple files :Simple Search-Replace

Its very lean, easy to use and supports recursive Search. And its one of the very few free S+R Tools I found (to be exactly this is the only free one I found).
The only thing it lacks is support for multi-line renaming. Maybe there's a nice free alternative I didn't find yet?

Thx, I tried this one already and its indeed extremely useful. The only little annoyance is that its free only for private use, an absolutely free software would be perfect fo me.

I use this little app called Katmouse, which is very useful to clear up an annoyance in Windows. Taken from the website:

The prime purpose of the KatMouse utility is to enhance the functionality of mice with a scroll wheel, offering 'universal' scrolling: moving the mouse wheel will scroll the window directly beneath the mouse cursor (not the one with the keyboard focus, which is default on Windows OSes).
