cm_SrcCustomView_images
cm_SrcCustomView_audiofiles
You can NOT make up your own internal commands - you can only use commands found in the totalcmd.inc file.

But you can start specific custom views with buttons - just use commands like cm_SrcCustomView1, cm_SrcCustomView2 etc up to cm_SrcCustomView29.

The number corresponds to the number of your custom views as you see them when using cm_SrcCustomViewMenu

That is not completely true.

Or you have to assign them in there.

You may put into the totalcm.inc the line

Code: Select all

cm_MyMadeupCommandForCustomView1=271;
and you can use this command (in addition to cm_SrcCustomView1) to show the first custom view in the source pane.

The disadvantage: You have to make a backup of your totalcmd.inc because it is overwritten with each new version.

I was NOT making my own internal commands.
These strings were written under those icons in the withgoing bitmap "scr_buttonbar_allcol.png", so I thought those were the related commands.
Since I'm advised here to use "cm_SrcCustomView1" -2" etc., I noticed another text in that bitmap, that maybe is not valid either : "cm_SrcThumbs_2" (underscore ?).

No underscore

:) Hello !
cm_SrcCustomView1=271; Source: Custom columns #1
cm_SrcCustomView2=272; (user defined columns)
cm_SrcCustomView3=273; etc.
- Like you can see above, there is not any underscore between the word and the number… You could find out this in the Tutorial, where it's nicely sorted from a table… ;)

I can understand your confusion. The strings are just suggestions from the author of the icons as to which commands the icons are intended for - but they are not all genuine commands - with a quick glance the following are not real commands:

cm_SrcThumbs_2
cm_ScrCustomView_images
cm_ScrCustomView_audiofiles
cm_ScrCustomView_dirsizecalc
select_buttonbar

Thanks for mentioning!

I restored the files on my server so the old collection in the first post is available again.

I made some replacement Icons for the Buttonbar in 256 colors and created some additional Icons for useful TC-Commands like quickview, show/hide tabs, compare files/dirs, etc.
StickyNomad, I've used your icons for a while now and I think, the old ones are more decent. They look kind of sharper, and I like the older ones because they are not as extreme colorful. Especially the folders look: Way too yellow. A yellow somewhere between the old and new icon would be nice.

Thanks for your comments. I wanted to desing my new icons to look more "WinXP'ish" and added (pseudo-)drop shadows to the 32x32 icons, so therefore the old ones may look sharper. But I wanted to achieve a more "organic" 3D look to the icons so I added the shadows.
Maybe I overdid the "yellowing" of the folders a little bit. I usually have to work with my icons for a little while until I see things that can be optimized. I'll consider your suggestions.

But work is still in progress so coloring and style will keep on developping. Maybe I'll release my next set in two styles: one win2K look and on in XP style, let's see...
But I tend to concentrate on one set, as the old releases are still available and I'll like to have one single set fitting as best as possible to TC. In addition I can't spend too much time for this project.
