I've started recently to use TC in vertical mode. It's quite useful for many purposes, however, it's easy to see this mode is not the preferred one. All the toolbars and status bars are horizontal, and to use most of my screen space I have to get rid of most of them, which doesn't quite fit my needs.
So, here is what needs to be done: in Change Button Bar add Position option - top/bottom/left/right. Having a button bar on the side in vertical mode would be just great. Secondly, move whatever information necessary from status bar to the bar on the side. It's not so convenient anymore, but leaves more space to use. There could be other things done to improve this, but I leave it at that. Here's how this would look like, I think:

More functionability in vertical mode

Well, what makes you think that is really useful?Pradera wrote: ...

I'm a big fan of a vertical toolbar.
But I want the toolbar IN BETWEEN the file lists.
The benefit is "shorter distance to move the mouse".
Here is .jpg of a DOpus configuration showing a center tool bar (83k).

Magellan also offers this configuration.
I first asked for this ability for TC back in 1999, I think.

What, the third sub-panel for quickview? You'd have two file panes and a quickview together - TC two-panel functionability connected with its file-viewing abilities - what more reason do you need?poiuytr wrote:Well, what makes you think that is really useful?Pradera wrote: ...

Well then, adding a fifth option to the toolbar position menu: 'Between the panels' looks like a solution satisfying for both of us :)JohnFredC wrote:I'm a big fan of a vertical toolbar.
