Good XML viewer

Post by *thomask »

Hi there - I need a good viewer for XML.

Using the default lister only gives me a black and white view. I would really like some color coding to better view the structure.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

You can try also with synplus, that have syntax hilighting for some languages (including XML), and allows you also to edit your files.
Hope it helps

Sorry, Sir_SiLvA, what you mean for "bloatware"? I was thinking about synplus for a quite good plugin... :lol:

Sir_SiLvA, I have done a lot of searches, but I think that, excluding ieview and synplus, no other plugin (as I know...) show XML with syntax highlighting. At this moment you have to shoot a sparrow with a cannon... But why do you think they are too heavy? For example, synplus, on my PC, is very quick, with XML files of mean size... :)

@Sir_Silva
If you're already using Scite as an editor, you might be interested in this brand new plugin: http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/SciLister.html to view xml without the "bloat" of a plugin with its own syntax highlighters

2SirSilva:
Since your location is German I'd like to suggest an external program which has only German language support :( but which I've come to depend on: XMLXPLOR
It's roughly 400kB large, can start from a stick and has been helpful for quite a while. Its website (http://www.xmlxplor.de/) is currently shutdown for maintenance when I just checked but you can find a copy at http://www.zdnet.de/downloads/prg/2/x/deT72X_img-wc.html
