[NEW Plugin] RSS Reader
Moderators: Hacker, petermad, Stefan2, white
I have download it again and only the feed http://ghisler.ch/board/rss.php?f=6 is working.
For example I can't download Softpedia feeds with RSS Feeds, but i am able to get the file via browser. So, it must be a problem with the plugin i think.

Are you behind a proxy?

Here is what I did to make it work. I downloaded version 0.7 not 0.7b.
Installing it wiped out my settings
It allowed me to get a clean start. Create a folder using F7. Then press ALT-Enter, fill in the details. Then open the folder and reload.
This is the Softpedia URL I am using: http://www.softpedia.com/backend.xml

I do get quite a few double entries when I reload a feed. Check this screenprint.
The OK and Cancel button on the reload screen are opposite from those on the Option screen for filling in the details.

I have already done a clean install. And nothing!! only ghisler feed is working....
I have already tried with Totalcmd.net, ghisler forum - new threads adn nothing. I can only read the "Dev and Support " feed....
I will try it at home this weekend to see if i can read the other feeds correctly.
Yes. This is the first time (since 0.7b) that RSS Reader is working with my company proxy. It works with http://ghisler.ch/board/rss.php?f=6....Have you tried to clear the feed content (at ini-file) and reloaded it ?

One issue I am finding at the moment is that RSS Reader is realllyyyy slow when I have a bit of feeds in a folder. It can take up to 20-30 seconds for it to load.
Any idea Midos why it is taking so long?
This thread: http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=68558#68558 is shown in RSS Reader as: and /.
Furthermore the codepage no longer seems to work. I have it set in my HTML template but regardless what I put there, characters like ë don't show up as such. Loading the html file in my browser trying different codepages doesn't help either

Hello MiDos,
I have this feed with Dutch news but RSS Reader did not update it for some reason. When I checked the URL again so I could mention it in this post I found something strange.
The URL from their website is http://nu.nl/deeplink_rss2/index.jsp?r=Algemeen. So I simply copy pasted this into RSS Reader, nothing happened. Now I added www after the http:// and it is working.
I guess this is a bug since http://nu.nl/ is a valid URL.
Regards,
RolandD
======== EDIT ========
A new version has been released. The above behaviour does not occur
Yay, the speed has increased

. When a feed does not have a URL, you cannot delete it.
Here are some quirks that I have with RSS Reader (they bug me
):
1. Almost all feeds get duplicate entries
2. Many feeds do not display a date (they do display dates in a stand alone RSS Reader)
3. Feeds are not updated despite reload (http://nu.nl/deeplink_rss2/index.jsp?r=Internet)
Request:
1. Force a re-read
2. Localization

Well, don't know why but it suddenly began to work... i think it began to work after restarting my computer. Now i can read all the other rss fedds.
I noticed that if i don't exit TC the rss are not updated correctly. But after restarting TC the feeds are correctly updated.

The possibility of defining encoding for the service was added in the latest vesrsion. It's good but unfortunately it works... worse now.
I had to back to the previous version.
I use iso-8859-2 for most servers and I can't set it now even if I choose "Read from fead" or "ISO".
In the previous version I could add line:
to Default.tmpl file and everything worked correctly.
The problem was if I wanted to read news in other language eg. Russian, I had to change the above line, that's why I suggested adding possibility of choosing different templates for different servers.
You've chosen another solution and it seems to be reasonable but... it doesn't work. At least for me.
