Thanks for the plugins.
I've got one question about the license of the plugins:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The DescAPI and CDDAPlugin.dll module are an integral part of the WhereIsIt
software package and as such a copyrighted material. Using or distributing
these librarires for any purpose other than running them as a part of
WhereIsIt is prohibited and in violation of copyright laws.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to this, it seems to be illegal using it with your plugin. What do you think about it?

Yes, I have read this license.
I think it's not illegal - to distribute my plugin without WhereIsIt plugins, just with links to official site.

Regarding "Using of these libraries" - maybe, it's voilation.
But I think it' up to user to decide whether to use WhereIsIt plugins or not.
File Thumbnails plugin can work without WhereIsIt plugins, using its own plugins in the same format (currently there are no such plugins, but I may write them). File Descriptions plugin - also can work with its own plugins only (currently there are 4 such plugins).

I just gave the links to official site and official API.
I don't want to violate copyright of mr. Robert Galle.

Upd: I removed DescAPI.pas from plugins sources. It's up to user to get the DescAPI headers now.

Yes, I'm afraid that even using it is illegal.

Yes, I'm afraid that even using it is illegal.
This is violation by the user of plugins, not by me as the author of FileThumbs plugin!

I may write in Readme: "Use WhereIsIt plugins at your own risk" or smth like this, if you want.

I didn't want to accuse you of anything ;-)
I only wanted to warn the users, many people don't read readme files.

"Use WhereIsIt plugins at your own risk" IMHO doesn't sound too good. It's like: "It's illegal but you can try to use it, maybe nobody see it".
The best way would be to get a permission of WhereIsIt's author to use them with TC, but it can be difficult.

Yes, I agree with that.
Maybe Christian can give to Robert Galle (WhereIsIt author) free license to TC? :-)

I don't think that he would find this amusing, he wants to sell his software and not give it to others for almost free...

Btw, I had similar problems when I wanted to add support for Quick View Plus: I asked them whether there was any API available, but they only wanted to sell a bundle of their software (with per copy licence fees), so I decided to work with the Irfanview author for an integration of his software...

For Directory Opus they found a nice solution.
Users just install the free Yahoo search and use the integrated quick view modules by an interface wrapper in DO.
