a question about AES plugin

Post by *Zenman »

Dear all,
in AES wcx plugin's option, there is a 'keyfile' (should be larger than 2k, according to the author). I have found no info about this file. Could someone explain the usage of the keyfile? :?:

Actually a very long thread and just one question and one very short answer by the plugin author about using a keyfile, look here, please.

The answer does not really mean much to me.
In particular, the author's answer does not tell you if the recipient of an aes-file encrypted by using a keyfile needs to have the same keyfile in order to decrypt.

The keyfile works as a password, you don't have to type a password you only have to give path+name of the keyfile to AES plugin.
You may have several Keyfiles for different people but both you and recipient must have the same keyfile in order to encrypt/decrypt Aes-file.
The keyfile must be bigger than 2kb and can be any type of file (Txt,jpg,exe...).

yes I have searched the forum, but,
as karlchen said, in the long thread, the author explained very little about the keyfile. He only mentioned the size should be larger than 2K.
thanks to sas2000's remark. :D
