Back2Life file system plug-in

Post by *sorex »

Hello,

Did anyone try out this plugin in TC6.51 (better or worse) ?

I trashed 6Gb of data to do a recovery test and it only seems to recover
either the folder names of the folders and a few of the files although
that all the files have 0% damage.

It appears to copy the file but it doesn't do a thing and doesn't spit out any errors either.

Anyone else having that problem with this undelete plug in ?

(phew, just saw that my real-time disk imaging software did an incremental back-up at 5am so nothing might get lost :D )

How did you get the 0% damage.
If you use alt+enter on directories it shows no damage(or all damage but that only happened to me with multiple files selected). If you use it on individual files inside the directory it shows the ones that have problems.Don't know if is documented or a known bug I haven't rtfm.

I use the program only when I accidentally delete something using shift+del (it's becoming something of a reflex) and up to now it happened only on small files.I have recovered all files that are shown as ok with no problems.

Edit:Just noticed that you are asking about TC 6.51,I have 6.53 but I don't think that is an issue and if it is,it should be in the Back2Life or TC changelog.

yeah, shift-del is quite usefull in TC & Outlook works too good sometimes

Actually there was no problem at all, I copied to a network drive were file blocking on extension is enabled so it refused a bunch of my files.
