DiskDir Extended 1.4:

This way to update LST-archives will go wrong:

If you try to copy one or more folder/s (shown in source panel) to a LST-file (opened in target panel) and if these folders and some files within them already exist in the LST-archive, you will get the overwrite confirmation dialogue. If you choose "Overwrite all older" now, then all entries in these folders will be deleted from the LST-archive.

Is it a bug (should it work) or is it a not supported feature?

I would therefore recommend to update LST-files only with the "Synchronize Dirs..." function (furthermore it's the only way to delete entries from the archive - apart from using an editor)

Hmm, I'm looking for a way to rebuilt my file structure from lst files without having to actually have the files at the original location.
So a way to "extract" only the folder structure without the files.
Is this possible with DiskDir Extended?

Edit: Sorry, forget that. It works when you extract *. instead of *.*

Confirmed ... it looks like the folder with all file entries is deleted and then the new folder is created only, instead of reusing the existing folder.

(furthermore it's the only way to delete entries from the archive - apart from using an editor)

Not confirmed ! I can delete single file entries from the archive view of *.lst file without any problem.

Again me, and my requset for lst files inside lst files inside... (see AHF signature above)

OK, I just noticed something: CD-DVD burner plugin (TC Burner) has this option: Support .lst files created by DiskDir.

It will add all files inside lst to the list to be burned.

Is it possible for you to implement something similar if not being able to support lst files in DiskDir config among other archives.

That is, you could do this:
When I try to add lst file (A) to another lst (L), prompt me if I want to add lst file itself, or files inside A. Furthermore, there should be an option for how to add files to L : (a) Just add them , (b) Add to folder with name: ______ ( default = FileNameWithoutExt(A) ).

Of course, the best thing would be just to listen to me and consider lst files as any other archive. Then you can forget about this story.

I mean, DiskDir is the best catalog plugin there. Why not to make it better... I consider cataloging to be very important function of file manager so it MUST be sophisticated. BTW, your newest addons work like a charm (for now)

My OS is Windows XP. I have problems with DiskDirExtCmd v1.33 when creating list of root folders (c:\ d:\). Sometimes it create lists fine, but in most cases it returns exitcode 128 and doen't send to stdout anything exept the drive letter. Please help.

HI Guys,

is this still alive?

Cause my question is: is it possible to list just the File and Dir Names without their Size and so on? So as to create a plain list of what's on a Disk?

Or would it be possible to add such a feature - preferably as an enriched config possibility?

As an alternative you can invoke the following commands (as in default english menu):

1. Commands -> Branch View (With Subdirs) (Ctrl+B)
2. Select All
3. Mark -> Copy Names With Path To Clipboard

how to show WITH subdirs? When I give the Branch View, it just lists Files, not Subdirs...

WAIT...... could be I use 6.52....?
