I was wondering if it was possible to disable "[alt] + x" since I often press this combination by accident (clumsy me..
)
How can it be done ?

And it would be great to have the option to disable exiting (and automatically replace it by minimize) if I try to exit with the cross or the keyboard.

soreno, fabio, you may do this:
in wincmd.ini :
[shortcuts]
A+X=nnn
where nnn=2000 (cm_Minimize) for Fabio
or 2015 (cm_Maximize) or 2016 (cm_restore) for soreno

Doesn't work for me. I even changed the shortcut through the GUI

I've just tried it now (on WinNT) and "A+X=2000" (and the others) pretty works
(of course after restarting TC)

shortcut redefinition doens't work for me too. When I add
POPUP "&x"
END_POPUP
to my mnu-file and press Alt+X TC terminates...
(Windows XP Pro)

Well,
I think it's not enough to change the .mnu file, you
still should redefine the shortcut in wincmd.ini file

of course I changed the entry in wincmd.ini. The additional menu entry was just another attempt to disable Alt-X=Quit. Alt+Key is normally used for accessing the main menu.

It works on WinXP Pro, too.
Haven't you got repeated [shortcuts] section in your .ini file?

no, don't have mutliple [shortcuts] sections. If I use A+X=2000 then Total Commander seems to become minimized first and then terminated...
Finally: Batch commands!!!

Hi,
how about this: activate in your configuration in "Quick search (current dir)":
Alt+Letters.
So Alt-x will only popup the quick-search (b.t.w. as the good old NC did!)
Greetings,
Cheer up, Karl
