SMViewer - lister plugin for MMedia files
New plugin for viewing MEDIA files
(AVI, MPG, MPEG, DAT, MP1-MP3, WAV, WMA, ASF, OGG, MID, KAR) SMViewer 1.0 beta
(AVI, MPG, MPEG, DAT, MP1-MP3, WAV, WMA, ASF, OGG, MID, KAR) SMViewer 1.0 beta
Hi
Bugreport:
I have tested with no other Lister plugins installed but I can't get it to work:
- Plugin doesn't get activated with MP3 and WAV
- TC crashes with AVI and MPG
(not tested with other media)
I'm using win98se + directX 9.0
Request:
Please be a bit more consistant in using names:
-the readme.txt says: SMViewer
-the download archive name is: MView
-the plugin filename is: VMedia
why not call them all the same ?
For example "SMViewer Plugin", "wlx_SMViewer_last(f).zip" and "SMViewer.wlx"
Now it is a bit confusing...

Hmm ... Beside me too WinXP Pro and without additional interference are lost all standard audio files. Sooner whole beside You are absent necessary Direct Show filters (beside I was absent OGG filter
).
Ok. For example:
I search in Google "Direct Show filters OGG" and has got much references. I have chosen http://www.wma-decoder.com/ogg_codecs/, download and install OGG Filter. Whereupon OGG files become playing.
One more... SMViewer so-is discussed on
Russian forum and nor beside who such problems did not appear

Just Lister
Hey there,
I downloaded SMViewer plugin. When I open a multimedia file, I just get Lister as if nothing changed. I installed the plugin as any other plugin. I have the same problem with MMedia. Or is it all "under the hood" and am I not supposed to see anything different?
Am I doing something wrong here?
Thx,
Botak

this (1.3 beta) is the first version of this plugin that I tried.
with TCs MM support switched off it won't play mp3 or wma files at all, just get lister showing the file.
with MM support enabled (contrary to the install instructions), Lister itself is able to play those.
Apart from that when playing video files other than MPG(1) I get fatal exceptions in the MM plugin, a new one coming up about every second.
Running WinXP Pro UK, fully patched. with DX9 and WMP9.
After installed the K-Lite codec pack (to install all possible filters it could need), it does start to play WMA, mp3 files it now throws an exception instead of not doing anything, and AVI files still have the exception no matter if it's DIV3, DIV4, XVID, etc.
The only thing it now reasonably plays without crashing TC is WMA and MPG.
I disabled it for now.
