Launchy and comparable apps (Colibri, Trininaut, also Locate and the usual desktop searches of course) create databases when scanning. This offers better performance than apps like 320mph, Find and Run Robot, etc... which don't but have to reaccess the whole hd permanently.

Try to edit these settings in the 320mph.ini file:
AlwaysScan and PathList. Delete the AlwaysScan section, and add folders to the PathList section. This way you will get a RunList.txt file in the script dir. What do you think the Scan button is for?
Here is how my ini looks like:
For finding files not contained in the AlwaysScan section, at least that's what I thought...
I have played around a little with the script now, it's no alternative for me at least despite its database which is like treeinfo files in TC, very bad performance compared to Locate for example.

Welcome. Yeah, locate is amazing. Do you use it as a launcher as well? I miss the recent list and the fact that 320mph puts recendly found files to the top of the list. Also 320mph is more filtered, for launching i only need files want to run. As for the performance, i am totally satisfied with it.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!
Sometimes, yep, especially for finding directories and documents. For apps and command line stuff I am still using TypeAndRun. I had planned to switch to AHK but due to the amount of aliases I had no desires till now, too lazy.
In fact I really like Find And Run Robot's design and would probably change if it would offer a database.
Main change:
Transparency, border width, colour and "show border only" can now be set for console, hint popup and dropdown list, this leads to much better overview.
A really sweet Explorer copyhandler alternative: Super Copier 2
If you want to use it in Total Commander (via Ctrl-X, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V or when Explorer copy method is selected by default) you have to add totalcmd.exe under Configuration -> handled processes.
From the readme:
SuperCopier replaces windows explorer file copy and adds many features:
- Transfer resuming
- Copy speed control
- No bugs if You copy more than 2GB at once
- Copy speed computation
- Better copy progress display
- A little faster
- Copy list editable while copyin
- Error log
- Copy list saving/loading
- ...
It replaces the first occurence of 00 85 C0 7E with 00 85 C0 EB, the recommended fix in Yahoo Group. I have tested it with 2.92.6 and 2.92.9 with no problems so far. Anyway, no guarantee that it works for you too.
Well, err, this post doesn't contain a new app, but I hope some will appear in reply.
I am looking for a standalone tool for searching text inside files, similar to TC search dialog, but displaying also lines where text appears in files.
It should be possible to call the program from command line with name of search project/directories, files and text to search.
TIA
