Unable to delete registry key
I was trying to change the function of my softkeys for my HTC TYTn.
I followed a registry hack for WM 5.0 that suggested adding a registry key :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113
After I added this key I found that what I wanted to do did NOT work so I tried to delete the key and that would not work. I tried to restore the registry with a backup and the key was still there!!
There are no values or data listed under the key.
Any thoughts on how to delete?

I don't see a reason why it cannot be deleted. Have you tried to rename it instead?

No "Properties" dialogue available and no dialogue to setup any access rights, this is Win2003 (me) or Win2005 (jcrompton) for PocketPCs, not WinNT or above.

Have not tried to create HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113 and then delete it using PHM Registry Editor. So cannot tell why PHM RegEdit might not be able to delete the key.
Maybe Windows locked the key? Have your tried a soft reset?

Right mouse button? On a PocketPC? ... Hm ...chriss wrote:click with the right mousebutton on the key and open "properties". then set the permission "full control" to everyone

Maybe the key also contains a space or some other invisible character at the end?

If your PocketPC support stylus (i.e. clickable), just try this:karlchen wrote:2chrissRight mouse button? On a PocketPC? ... Hm ...chriss wrote:click with the right mousebutton on the key and open "properties". then set the permission "full control" to everyone![]()

Click on the registry key or value node, and do not loose. Press on it for a little while, you'll see the context menu with "Delete" command.
On my smartphone it worked.
