Copy action slow as hell

Post by *Mafishas »

TC 6.55 copy action is terrible! In Explorer or FAR the same amount is copied in 1 min, in TC 5+ min.
Move seems to be OK, Del also.
Any ideas? It's really annoying.

Do you use copy via explorer (see settings)?

Try Configuration - Options - Copy/Delete - Use compatibility mode for the following drives.
As a last resort, you can select Use copy+paste via Explorer.

To/from what drives did you copy? I cannot reproduce a factor of 5 in speed difference, something must be terribly wrong with your setup...

No need to be nasty or does it make you feel better?
In FAR it said 1 min (and finished as promised) and in TC 5 min and after 2 it did not look good.

Mafishas,
Did you disable "USB sticks" in the compatibility mode section? It is activated by default and makes TC automatically use compatibility mode for USB drives, so there shouldn't have been the need to change anything.

I also made a quick test:
Copied 70M to an USB2 stick:
38 secs vs 100 secs was the result. Did you use an USB1 stick maybe?

Nop, USB2 1gb.
It took me 60 sec to copy 254mb,
you 38 to copy 70mb.
I'd say my speed is fine now :)
