Hmm, I implemented it this way so you can use tooltips with cm_showhint even when you don't want them with the mouse. What sense would it have to send cm_showhint if you don't want any tips?

So it's on purpose? That's OK then, i though it might be something unintentional.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

It would be better if one could disable tooltips for the mouse while still be able to see them with cm_ShowHint when needed. This is not possible right now.

Hello !

- What about making that command as a real bistable one : "Show / Hide" ?

:?: It seems to work fine here - with this setup:

Indeed that works, thanks!

But, the checkboxes are badly connected then. Unchecking "Show filename in filelist" should not grey the lower boxes.

I agree. I have pointed out a couple of times in the beta-test forum that those two options ("Show filename in list..." and "Win 32 style tips...") should not be dependable on each other.

I know - but even icfu didn't get it - and as you sometimes state in your signature:
