I think an option to search whole file or to search also from beginning to current position would be great because sometimes it's really useful.

Definitely, an option to do so, or a checkbox on the dialog.

Opera's text-search automatically wraps around, and if it's a long page and/or if you don't pay very close attention to the scroll bar position it can be difficult to tell that it has even started over. It will never finish, continually looping back to the beginning.

[OK] [Cancel]
I dont think it even needs to be an option, instead of just popping up with Not found, give the option to research from beginning - problem solved.
Yup, I fully agree with this proposal, it would be very useful. For sure not automatically search from beginning if not found (of from the end if searching backwards)

I have indeed considered such anautomatic wraparound, but I need a method to tell the user that such a wraparound occurs, so he doesn't find the same line again and again. Some programming tools show this by a colored status bar, but Lister doesn't have any...

Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

The percentage in the upper right-hand corner could blink twice or so.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

:) Hello Roman !

• Clever, but I think that it could be overlooked…
- Maybe a menu pop-up shown only in Text modes (or else, greyed out) like :
<Looped Search>
having a single item :
Enable¦Disable looped Search
with which no tick-box is needed in the dialogue, thus we'ld kill two birds with the same stone… :roll:
