I looked at you screenshot from the Lister Player Settings again: https://i.ibb.co/9WW7jpT/017.png
Compared to my settings: https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/lavfilters.png I can see that you have an extra filter in the Decoder filters (audio/video) section - the LAV Splitter {171252A0-8820-4AFE-9DF8-5C92B2D66B04}
Try and remove the LAV Splitter {171252A0-8820-4AFE-9DF8-5C92B2D66B04} entry from the list and restart TC to see if that helps.

Good news. At least we have located the issue source, and it is definitely related to your Total Commander configuration.
Now I have some more questions regarding your newly installed TC.
What does the 'Lister' title report when you activate the viewing (F3)?
It should be just Lister - [c:\Test\vidx_20240104_ffmpeg_make_x264.mp4], no other plugins should be mentioned there, like Lister (otherPpluginName) - [c:\Test\vidx_20240104_ffmpeg_make_x264.mp4].
What does 'Help - About Total Commander' window report regarding your settings (wincmd.ini) and program (tccmd64.exe) locations?
Please, check the contents of your new wincmd.ini.
Please, take a note that upon new installation TC can catch the settings from the previously installed copy.
So please, locate new wincmd.ini right in the new TC installation path.
Please, make sure your new wincmd.ini is completely empty.
The only thing that to be there is as follows:
Code: Select all
[Configuration]
UseIniInProgramDir=7
http://totalcommander.ch/1102/tcmd1102x64.exe
Installed it here (the directory should be with write access):
c:\Test\totalcmd\
Then, downloaded LAV filters from here:
https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases/download/0.78/LAVFilters-0.78-x64.zip
And unpacked it here:
c:\Test\totalcmd\FILTER64\
Then, I launched Total Commander (with the above-mentioned empty wincmd.ini, unpacked LAVfilters), and tried to view the test video files.
Everything works like a charm, without any manually adjusted settings at all.
I'm sure you can repeat my steps, and see how it goes.
(If you still keep your newly installed TC copy it would be enough for you just to purge your properly located new wincmd.ini as described).

Also judging from your file list, TC's dll's in the Filters64 directory are outdated.
Here are yours:
Here are mine:
The dates are not the same, the sizes might be the same, hard to say when dynamic size display is chosen.
And you have an extra LAVFilters subdirectory, depending on its content it could be a problem.

I suppose, finally, petermad is giving the right cues addressing your issue.
Apparently, the dating of the "AutoPitch.dll", "SoundTouchDLL.dll", "SoundTouchDLL_License.txt", "vmr9rotator.dll" native files in the "Filter64" folder indicates that you are using Total Commander with weirdly outdated components.
Fixing your issue implies the following steps:
a. Delete everything within the "Filter64" folder, in other words, make it entirely empty (since you have no idea what is there, it would be completely safe).
b. Extract "AutoPitch.dll", "SoundTouchDLL.dll", "vmr9rotator.dll" from the actual Total Commander setup (https://totalcommander.ch/1102/tcmd1102x64.exe) and place them into the "Filter64" folder.
c. Download the actual LAVfolders archive (https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases/download/0.78/LAVFilters-0.78-x64.zip) and extract its contents into the "Filter64" folder.
The above steps give you the "Filter64" folder with the following contents:
note: only .dll and .ax files are required (along with LAVFilters.Dependencies.manifest file) to be there while all the others could be ignored):
d. Delete 'PreloadInputFilters64' and 'PreloadFilters64' entries in your wincmd.ini [Lister].
e. In the end, it also may be required to reinstall Total Commander in an update mode.

Cannot find filters in user defined settings.
If I install the lav filter (as opposed to unzipping and copying it), can select it. However, unlike the screenshot you posted, I can only select the filter, but not DLL.

Sad to see the issue is still there despite all the efforts.
Well, maybe it helps if you explicitly define the view mode for the .mp4 file type.
This can be done as follows:

I don't advise to install the filters, just copy them to TC's Filters64 folder.
If you have installed the filters I suggest that you uninstall them with the various provided uninstall_*.bat files
That is normally all it takes.

Re: Video(mp4) not playing in Lister
By the way, something came to my mind while testing.
When I installed TC in a different folder, I noticed that it opened in the last folder I had opened before.
Is there any way to delete all existing config files and test it?
I was wondering if a full clean install would solve the problem.
I mean the appdata/roaming/ghisler folder and the I'm wondering if the settings are stored anywhere else but the TC folder.
