Webpage about Lister needs updating

Would it be possible to fix the Lister in https://plugins.ghisler.com/addons/lister32.zip so it can show the group-box captions and lines.

It would be nice if it could look as it did in the prior version based on TC 6.53. https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/lister653.png

All the strings for the group captions are there in Lister.exe, they are just not displayed.

Thanks for the Danish translation, but how did you translate the dialog boxes? They use a binary format. I would like to create a German version too. I can sign the Danish version so it doesn't show the execution warning after downloading.

It's odd that they are missing now. Currently I can't recompile it, I will have to dig out the old sources. I tried to compile standalone Lister from current sources, but it compiles almost all of Total Commander into it.

Confirmed fixed. This thread can be moved to fixed bugs, unless you want to keep it here because of the other discussion about translating Lister.exe.

but how did you translate the dialog boxes?

I used resHacker to translate all Captions in the RCData section. I have not translated the String table.

And yes for example at the end of a search the message box "String not found" is not translated, and I cannot find that string using ResHacker.

I used resHacker v. 3.5.0.82 - I tried with the newer ResourceHacker 5.1.8 (build 360), but i failed when using Danish characters æøåÆØÅ)

The webpage https://www.ghisler.com/tools.htm links to the Lister webpage and says:

That's actually the reason why I put the info about the built-in viewer at the END of the section - as an alternative to the external viewers I'm linking to on that page. But no, someone had to move it to the top.

1. There's good reason to put it at the top, because you abandoned Lister.exe 17 years ago and people were expected to use Total Commander with command line parameter instead.

2. If you feel strongly about the current text on the tools page, you can leave it as it is. The external Lister can still be found using the link.

3. The tools page still needs updating because "New: 32-bit version now available!" should be removed. It was relevant 23 years ago, but to call it "new" now, when this version was abandoned 17 years ago, is weird.

Confirmed. In my suggestion, I didn't include the extra information because "Lister" is mentioned on the left and the explanation is on the right. There's no need to mention "Lister" again. And the fact that Lister refers to both the built-in viewer and the separate program becomes apparent if people visit the Lister webpage. There's no need to mention that. However, your text is perfectly fine too, of course.

Sorry, I don't currently have the time to create a German version. Also the following strings are hard coded and can't be translated unless you patch the EXE and keep the exact same lengths:
