When i start packing files with total7zip i'm unable to start a second (simultaneous) pack operation with total7zip.

What could i be doing wrong ?

alwaysWait7zip = "0", I pressed background...nothing seems to work, the second operation only starts after the first one is finished.

Have same bug. Seems like x32 process can't handle enough memory or parallel packing. Try 7zip.wcx, which is also available in x64 - it packs good.

I try compress some files (alt+f5) choose 7z extension and open configure dialog. oryginal 7zip configure dialog is open with this path:

C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Temp\Tot3C19.tmp\ConfigurePacker and delete this file.7z

well, packing 7z works, also standard compression settings are saved.
but not settings for sfx, and all other bits on the right side of the settings dialog.

creating sfx or password protected files doesn't work here... i always get a plain, unprotected .7z

I set "create self extracting archive".
I see in the file name: "K:\Temp\Total7zip_temp_8F7ECB5E\ConfigurePacker and delete this file.exe"
i always get a plain, unprotected .7z
If i change to "K:\test.exe", then, other that .7z
file, it create this file but it have "t7z.tmp" 0 bytes content.
I do not know if it matters, K: is a ramdisk.

- Again i not see log when enabled.
- Do it is possibile to set Total7zip as default zip compressor instead of TC internal zip?

I solved first question using the main panel to compress instead of the configuration panel

2. Browse to find SetTools.exe inside, set cursor on it
3. Ctrl+PgDn -> password-field appears
4. Wait...
5. Wait..
6. Ta-dam! TC is crashed (and all his copies running at the moment, too).

You have to click on TC's main window when you see the password dialog.

After some testing, I can confirm for any archive containing a password protected archive, not just the one provided by MaxX. Also, sometimes I get TC's crash error, sometimes Windows' crash error.

I can reproduce this error ONLY if I click on TC's main window while the Password dialog is open AND I try to navigate up-dir from where the SetTools.exe is placed - I can navigate in the other panel without problems.

If I Alt-Tab back to the Password dialog I can still close it with Esc or the Cancel button and countinue working with TC - that also applies if I have seen the Access violation dialog but choose to continue execution.

When I press Esc in the Password dialog, or press the Cancel button I get a TC error message saying "Error in packed file: ...", and everything is back to normal.

Tested with TC 8.0 RC2 under both Windows XP and Windows 7 x64 with Total7Zip 0.8.5.1

Not in my case: while TC seems to be working, some parts of it are not, for example if you create or delete something, you have to manually refresh file panel to see the change.

I must admit, that I didn't try any file operations, I just checked that I could still navigate.

Any news on the 64bit version. I have to use 7Zip plugin for the 64 bit version but it doesn't unpack installers like Total7Zip does.

Would be nice.

Question regarding use of Total7zip as a Lister Plugin: If I define a new file extension and configure the detect string in wincmd.ini for that to use Total7zip, can this plugin be configured to not display the file itself but just pass the uncompressed file to another lister plugin?

Example:
1) define mhz file extension
2) for F3, use Total7zip to convert to mht file, and
use HtmlView to display the uncompressed file

Apart from adding a request for a x64 version (as others have already done) of this fine plugin, i'm pasting the following from 7zip's site:

new "rn" command to rename files in archive.

If the plugin is still in development, it would be great if renaming support could also be added to it.
