It would be nice to see if the current project fits to the CD or how much place I still can use. I like the way how DeepBurner does it. It shows how much place is used and free (or too much) for several types (different size) of CD/DVD so I can see it without the CD inside.
Unfortunately I don't know how it should be presented in this plugin. But it's very useful feature.

Look here. I mean info in the left bottom corner and the line at the bottom.

Hi, Loc2262.

First, this is a great plugin. The best, IMHO.

Following are some ideas that could improve the user interface.

I was referring exactly to an option in FsExecuteFile(). AFAIK, you can "write" your own custom commands with "quote <commandline>" option. This way you could create buttons for the following commands in the toolbar, and even associate keystrokes to custom commands.

Example:
quote config: Show plugin configuration.
quote erase: Erase cd-rw/dvd-rw.
quote rescan: Rescan devices
quote help: Show help
quote update: Update check
quote burn: Burn media
quote clear: Clear project
quote writeiso: Create ISO

This way you can avoid almost every virtual file shown in your plugin. And users could create his own button in toolbars. And even more, you can distribute your own toolbar toolbar .ini file (.bar, actually) in the plugin package!

In fact, this would be even better with dynamic toolbar controlled by FS plugin (through new functions). That would be Ghisler's work, although I know has a large list of request.

Best regards!

Another bug.
It's described already here for some others plugins.
Close TC having in one panel CD/DVD Burning Plugin and eg. C: drive in another. When you reopen TC you see the CD/DVD Burning Plugin folder in one panel and C: drive with NO content displayed in another. :-(

Maybe anyone else could try it?
I also work on WinXP SP2 & TCV6.51.
I've got installed 33(!) wfx plugins but it behaves this way only for 3 of them: Versions, CD/DVD Burner (for Complx CD it works ok) and LanSeeker.

Edited:
It seems to work this way only if you have the plugin opened in the left panel.

Just burnt my first 2 CDs - and it worked excellently. Next weekend I'll try to burn a video DVD. If that works, too, then a decent donation (BTW how much would that be?) is highly appropriate!

All the same - a (small) bug occured: I checked "Verify disc" and the check gave the result: "Verify error: disc is not readable" (or something like that). Nevertheless, the disc is recognised by TC, the contents is shown reliably and a binary compare proved that source and written files are identical. Seems to be a problem with the verify function?

Wilhelm

As it was already mentioned, verification sometimes shows some errors but the files are ok. Why?
Anyway, the verification process lasts very long in comparison to eg. Nero.

One more question: why is the cd ejected before verify even if eject after burn is not turned on?

Hacker wrote:Concerning the ** Project Size: [89 files, 651.087.093 bytes], could you please show the size in the Size field? Because with extensions aligned (with Tab) the 093 bytes part is in the extension column and doesn't look good.
Good point, will change that. Thanks!
And another problem - a DVD+RW always shows up as having exactly 1.36 MB free space, no matter if completely clean, erased, new, or fully burned.
Yeah unfortunately the Burn SDK has some trouble correctly determining the free space on DVD+-RWs. For that I actually added a query that allows you to ignore the "not enough free space" warning and burn anyway. Doesn't that work for you? What error message precisely causes the burn abort for you?

Yeah I already thought about that too. Will see if I can find a way to present that information without cluttering the pseudo-directories up too much with special entries. :)

Yeah I can confirm that too. Though I have no idea what I could do to avoid that... Maybe Christian Ghisler could say more to that? It rather appears to be a TC peculiarity. Maybe it has something to do with the time a plugin needs to Initialize, or the fact that I quickly open a new window (splash screen)?

When you press CTRL-R in the right-hand pane, the contents of the dir are shown correctly.

Frank
