Branch view question

Post by *majkinetor ! »

Ghisler can you confirm that there will be leveled branch view in future versions of TC, or confirm oposite, so to know how to organise my files. That fact will direct my organisation plans.

Thank you in advance.

Wow, how can you do like that?
Use TC?
Seemed not,
but this kind of "tree-view" can be very useful indeed.

No, no that.

I mean this:

MP3
  jazz
     Cassandra Wilson - Blue Skies
     Nicola Conte - Other Directions
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme [Deluxe Edition]
  electronic
    Anders Ilar - Everdom
    Aphex Twin
        Selected Ambeiental Works
        AFX - analord 06
        AFX - analord 07
    Brothamstates - Kobn-Tich-Eu
    Brothomstates - Qtio EP
  dub
    ....

Lets say I am in MP3 and I want to see all of my alubms in one huge list. Since all albums are in categories I need level 1 branch so to "remove" categories (jazz, electronic, dub...) but not Aphex Twin since it would be level 2 branch. At the end, I will have this:

    Cassandra Wilson - Blue Skies
    Nicola Conte - Other Directions
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme [Deluxe Edition]
    Anders Ilar - Everdom
    Aphex Twin
    Brothamstates - Kobn-Tich-Eu
    Brothomstates - Qtio EP

That is what I ment.

But picture you showed should be a nice request for TC. As I see it now, it only requires to upgrade current tree view with file list and with some command like, "expand this folder recursively" (you can add levels here also).

Yeah, the forum archive is a big black hole. It eats requests faster than ghisler can read and comment them. ;)

Hej, look at the bright side - if we feed this black hole for 10 000 years we can create the bigest black hole known in Universe which will surely open wormhole to parallel space-time.

And just maybe, in that world Ghisler might be the best dude ever, TC might be freeware and weekly updated, X* might have cool nick name, and me might be even more fun (this is very optimistic part, I must say that probability for this is really really low)

Hey, didn't our black hole guru (Sheepdog) say that the more stuff you throw in, the smaller it becomes? That means the insignificant ones are the deadliest (like silent f@rts).

Maybe in that world all 33 file managers will become as one, Switzerland will become Ghislerland, cool X* will kiss a frog and be transformed into the immortal Aztec sun-god XPEHOPE3KAQUETZALCOATL, and we will have to sacrifice a newbie virgin every sunrise to him. I like that bit! :D

It is really one of those pure state-of-the-art off topics. We should patent our OTs, don't you think.
