Generate Descript.ion file from Firefox Extensions (XPIs)

Post by *ZoSTeR »

This is a little AutoIt app that extracts the description from Firefox extension files (XPIs) and stores it in a descript.ion file.

Hope some find it useful.

Some of the code might look a little out of context because i exported it from my standalone XPI-manager.
It uses and includes 7-Zip (7zA.exe) for extraction.

XPI-Desc - Version 0.11 - 12.05.2006
Compiled Exe and source

Very useful, thanks.

Would be good, if one could pass the full path or
a list of xpi files to its via command line eg. %P or %L.

But OK. I don't use it 100 times a day :)

Here is another link as the above file has been deleted from rapidshare.de (No download for a longer period. Inactivity-timeout exceeded.)

I hope you don't mind ZoSTeR.

PS for people interested by XPI information there is also this nice plugin (see this thread)
